Information FAQ

Q: How is the event powered?
A: OOTO is Wind, Sun, vegetable oil, people & love powered. This is a
carbon neutral event, but due to rising cost we are stepping in this direction
Q: Can I get there with public transport alone?
A: Yes. Trains - Polegate, East Sussex - Bus from Polegate to Hailsham every 30 mins -
National Express No.024 From Victoria to Hailsham leaves London 15.00hrs
Q: Why must I pay extra to park my car on-site? A: We encourage the use of public transport but for those who drive we charge £5 towards tree planting to offset the carbon value. Q: Can I bring a camper van? A: Yes, there is an area for live-in vehicles but Camper van passes are extra. Q: Is there disabled access to the site? A: Yes. So long as you are able to get into the main arena (there is a steep slope on entry), everything that you need can be found in the same field on one level. It would be impossible for us to make provision for every eventuality but if you need to get a vehicle into the field for access reasons then please contact us in advance on the following number: 07807 918678 Q: Can I bring in my own alcohol? A: No. Although this may seem unreasonable, we need the bar money to enable the festival to break even. Alcohol will be confiscated at the gate. OOTO is NOT an event orientated towards boozing, it is important to us to maintain a family friendly atmosphere. In addition no glass will be permitted on site. Q: Can I bring drugs? A: No! Drugs are illegal and not permitted at anytime, remember this is a family event! Q: Can I Bar-B-Q? A: Unfortunately, no; health and safety is our primary concern here, we don’t want any tents going up in flames. There will be controlled fires on site where you are welcome to toast a marshmallow or a sausage. Q: Will food and drink be reasonably priced then? A: Yes! We aim to provide quality, healthy, tasty food at affordable prices and the drinks will be priced to match. Q: Can I bring my dog? A: No. Sorry, as much as we love those hairy quadrapeds the terms of our license will not allow them to attend. Q: What is the litter policy? A: We operate a zero waste policy. All recyclables can be dealt with on site but we ask you to please take any other litter home with you. Q: Can I get a refund? A: Tickets are sold as non-transferable and non-exchangeable. Refunds are strictly at the Managements discretion. Q: What Time does the Music switch Off? A: Our license means we have to turn the music off at 1 am and that is site wide and includes drumming and anything that could disturb our neighbours or people asleep on our site. Q: Do we have neighbours that don’t like noise A: Yes even though OOTOPIA is in the countryside, there are neighbours that we want to keep a good relationship with and it is part of our license agreement with Wealden council that we have continuously occurring noise assessments. If one of the OOTEAM, security or a steward asks you to keep the noise down, please bear this in mind.
